By the time the 1960s began to wither down, minority groups in the United States seemed pretty inspired by the idea that movements such as the civil rights movement and women’s liberation caused quite a stir and eventually seemed to be forces with a wider reach, that lead to people being united. Groups such as the Native Americans and Hispanics particularly alongside Gay and Lesbian Americans made substantial development to be accepted by the mainstream American society (Class note: Minorities Mobilize).
